Free Fun at Alhambra Summer Serenade Concert Series

Lovers of the Hollywood Bowl and Festival on the Green will easily get hooked on the 2014 Alhambra Serenade Summer Concert series. It’s a lot closer, it’s free, and it offers great music.
Sponsored by the Alhambra Community Services Department, the popular outdoor concerts will be offered from 7 pm. to 9 p.m. every Friday from Aug. 8 through Aug. 29 at the Alhambra Park Bandshell, 500 N. Palm Ave., Alhambra.
Enjoy a variety of food trucks or bring a picnic dinner. Festival bench seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis, or bring a blanket and enjoy the cool grass.
Groups scheduled to perform for the 2014 Summer Serenade Concert series are:
Aug. 8: Adrianna Marie and Her Groove Cutters (Blues) 2014 nominee for “Best New Artist Debut,” Blues Music Awards
Aug.15: Adam’s Attic (Pop/Rock) First runner up in the KTLA “Battle of the Band Competition;” performances at numerous sold-out shows at the House of Blues and Hard Rock Café.
Aug. 22: Centerfold Hits of the 80s (‘80s music) Memories of the ‘80s return in a big rock show. The Centerfold’s high energy performance is guaranteed to get people on their feet.
Aug. 29: Chico Band (Latin) An especially versatile, talented band that masterfully performs a variety of music from soft ballads to hard-driving rock ‘n roll, but specializing in big band music, salsa, cha-cha, merengue, cumbias, Tex Mex, oldies and rock.
