The annual “Night Out Against Crime” will take place from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2, on the lawn of the Alhambra Police Department, 211 S. First St.
This free event brings together the Alhambra community and its police department. Residents can learn more about the programs and services that make the City of Alhambra one of the most peaceful communities in Southern California.
There will be demonstrations; conversations with officers, including the newly appointed Acting Chief of Police Jackie Gomez-Whiteley; examination of departmental vehicles; tours of police headquarters; hot dogs; snacks; and entertainment.
“An expanded relationship between residents and the police department is essential to the success of crime prevention as residents, in partnership with police officers, are more alert to what’s happening in the community and understand the value of sharing that information with the police,” said Mayor Barbara Messina.
