A “Celebrate Gold!” program is scheduled for 3 p.m. when Alhambra Coin Center experts will evaluate attendees’ gold and silver items. Please do not clean the items before bringing them for evaluation. Museum tours will take place during the event, and a Fire Truck Tour will be offered beginning at 1:30 p.m. “It is appropriate that Alhambra Fire Department personnel take part in the celebration, since many Alhambra firefighters took an active role in the development of the Alhambra Historical Society Museum in 1987,” said Museum Director Rosemarie Markus.

The Alhambra Historical Society was founded in 1966 by Mayor Norma Yocum, who became its first president. Under the leadership of 50 years worth of presidents and working with boards of trustees and countless involved Alhambra citizens, the Society has accumulated a treasure-trove of historical Alhambra artifacts.

The Alhambra Unified School District’s Music Department will present its renditions of two seldom-heard compositions: Alhambra Town of My Dreams and Alhambra The Fair.

The event is free. Refreshments are included.
